After a three-year break, Renault is all set to bring back its popular SUV, the Duster, to the Indian market in a brand-new avatar. The production of the previous-generation Duster was discontinued in 2022, leaving a strong fan base eagerly waiting for its return. Now, reports suggest that the third-generation Renault Duster is likely to be launched in India around March 2026, creating fresh excitement among SUV enthusiasts.
The new Renault Duster will be based on the European Dacia Duster, but it will be specially adapted for Indian road and market conditions. It will be built on Renault-Nissan’s modern CMF-B platform, which is expected to offer improved safety, better ride quality, and enhanced overall performance. In terms of design, the SUV will feature a completely refreshed exterior with a bold new grille, Y-shaped LED daytime running lights, sporty bumpers, large wheel-arch cladding, and roof rails. These elements will give the Duster a more rugged, premium, and contemporary SUV stance.
Inside the cabin, the new Duster is expected to receive significant upgrades. It may come equipped with a panoramic sunroof, a larger touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, a fully digital driver’s display, a 360-degree camera, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). These features will not only improve comfort and convenience but will also enhance overall safety for both city and highway driving.
On the powertrain front, the new-generation Duster is likely to be offered with two turbo-petrol engine options. These engines are expected to strike a good balance between performance and fuel efficiency. Additionally, Renault may introduce mild-hybrid technology, with the possibility of a stronger hybrid variant in the future.
In terms of pricing, the new Renault Duster is expected to start at around ₹10–11 lakh (ex-showroom). It will directly compete with popular midsize SUVs such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Maruti Grand Vitara. With its modern design, advanced features, and strong brand legacy, the new Renault Duster is poised to make a strong comeback in India’s competitive SUV segment in 2026.
