India will celebrate its 77th Republic Day on January 26, 2026, marking 77 years since the Constitution of India came into force on January 26, 1950. The highlight of the national celebrations will be the grand Republic Day Parade at Kartavya Path, New Delhi, drawing millions of viewers across the country and abroad.
The day will begin with Prime Minister Narendra Modi laying a wreath at the National War Memorial, followed by President Droupadi Murmu unfurling the national flag. The parade will then showcase India’s military strength, cultural diversity, and achievements through marching contingents, tableaux, and performances.
The Republic Day Parade will begin at 9:30 am, while gates at Kartavya Path will open at 7:00 am. For those unable to attend in person, the parade will be broadcast live on Doordarshan, its official YouTube channel, All India Radio’s YouTube channel, and other government digital platforms. Most national television news channels will also carry live coverage, ensuring widespread access.
Tickets for the parade are priced at ₹100 and ₹20, while tickets for the Beating the Retreat ceremony are available at ₹100, with rehearsal tickets priced at ₹20. Tickets can be purchased via the Aamantran website or from authorised counters at locations such as Sena Bhawan, Shastri Bhawan, Jantar Mantar, Parliament House, Rajiv Chowk Metro Station, and Kashmere Gate Metro Station. A valid government-issued photo ID is mandatory.
Adding global significance to the event, European Council President Antonio Luís Santos da Costa and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will attend as chief guests.
