Eric Nicholl indicated The electric vehicle manufacturer was asked to withdraw due to safety concerns for workers, attendees, and exhibitors.

Nicholl noted that Tesla was given "multiple opportunities to voluntarily withdraw."

"This decision will allow all attendees to focus entirely on enjoying the numerous positive aspects of the event," the statement read.

The auto show, taking place at the Vancouver Convention Centre, is set to commence on Wednesday and conclude on Sunday.

Tesla's removal follows a series of protests dubbed "Tesla Takedown" that occurred over the weekend in cities such as Ottawa and Vancouver. On Sunday, around 24 protesters came together outside a Tesla dealership in Surrey, BC. This protest was similar to one that happened in Vancouver earlier. The protesters carried signs that pointed out issues with Elon Musk and urged everyone to get involved in democratic activities.

Pat After the protest in Surrey, McCutcheon defended the auto show's decision to exclude Tesla. He said this was justified because of the ongoing controversies involving the company and its CEO, Elon Musk.

He mentioned that he had not heard of any protests planned for the auto show but acknowledged the "fair amount of emotion" surrounding Tesla.

It's crucial for your organization to avoid vandalism and violent clashes. That's why I think they made a wise decision," he mentioned.

McCutcheon also pointed out that he intends to hold a protest outside a Tesla dealership in Langley, British Columbia, this weekend.

"Elon Musk is using his considerable wealth to undermine democracy," he said.
