Salman Khan Gets Fresh Death Threat; Security Enhanced at Bandra Bungalow

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan finds himself again in the eye of a high-level security threat after he was sent a creepy death threat by a WhatsApp message to the official number of Mumbai Transport Department's Worli office.

The threatening letter, which remained anonymous, consisted of a notice warning of the planned assassination of the actor through intrusion into his house and the bomb threat in which his vehicle was to be targeted with a bomb. The seriousness of the threat has spurred prompt action on the part of the Mumbai Police, who initiated an intensive inquiry to identify the sender and investigate the source of the threat.

Salman has previously faced similar threats, many of which have been linked to gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s criminal network. The group had earlier issued public warnings against the actor in connection with the blackbuck poaching case. As a result, Salman has been under enhanced protection for over a year, receiving Y+ category security and a special arms permit.

Authorities are taking this new message with utmost caution because the actor is highly publicized and previously made threats. The cybercrime unit is taking an active part in tracing the origin of the WhatsApp message.

Meanwhile, security has been tightened heavily around Salman Khan's home at Galaxy Apartments in Bandra. The actor, though, has not issued a statement, but his sources indicate that he is well aware of the situation and is cooperating with the law enforcement agencies.

As the investigation goes on, the fans and film industry have come out strongly, showing great concern and appealing to the authorities to provide for his safety and to stop these continued threats.
