Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan paid a late-night visit to veteran screenwriter Salim Khan at Lilavati Hospital on Saturday. The 90-year-old writer, father of actor Salman Khan, has been admitted there since February 17 following a minor brain haemorrhage.
While Shah Rukh was not photographed inside the hospital, paparazzi videos showed his car entering the premises in the evening and leaving about an hour later. Reports suggest Salman was present with his father at the time. Shah Rukh’s visit is being seen as a gesture of support to the Khan family during a difficult period.
Doctors earlier confirmed that Salim Khan’s condition is stable. According to hospital authorities, he was brought to the emergency department by the family doctor and later shifted to the ICU for close monitoring. Dr Jalil D Parkar from the Department of Chest Medicine clarified that no surgery was required. He described the haemorrhage as “very minimal” and said it did not require surgical intervention.
Several members of the film fraternity, including Aamir Khan and Javed Akhtar, have also visited the veteran writer since his hospitalisation.
Salim Khan, one half of the iconic Salim-Javed duo, helped shape Hindi cinema in the 1970s with films such as Sholay, Deewaar and Zanjeer. His contribution to the “Angry Young Man” era remains a defining chapter in Bollywood history.
