NEW DELHI:  The Ministry of Tourism has intensified efforts under the Special Campaign for Disposal of Pending Matters (SCDPM) 5.0, aiming to promote cleanliness and streamline administrative efficiency across its offices and institutions. The campaign, launched in coordination with the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), focuses on reducing bureaucratic backlogs and maintaining cleaner, more organised work environments.

According to the Ministry, a total of 6,429 targets have been identified and uploaded to the SCDPM portal. These include reviewing over 4,700 physical files and 1,100 e-office files. In addition, 413 sites have been earmarked for cleanliness drives as part of the ongoing campaign.

So far, the Ministry has completed 1,553 activities, marking 24.15% of the total identified goals. Through these efforts, approximately 14,095 square feet of space has been freed, and the disposal of scrap materials has generated Rs. 1,72,991 in revenue. The progress is being closely monitored and updated regularly on the SCDPM portal.

The campaign has seen active participation from various arms of the Ministry, including India Tourism Offices, Institutes of Hotel Management (IHMs), the Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management (IITTM), and the India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC). Each of these bodies is contributing through both physical clean-up drives and administrative reviews to enhance efficiency within their respective domains.

In addition to on-ground action, the Ministry is also leveraging social media to highlight its cleanliness and file disposal activities. Regular updates are being shared to increase public engagement and transparency regarding the progress made under Special Campaign 5.0.

The initiative reflects the government’s broader commitment to ensuring a cleaner, more efficient administrative system, aligning with the objectives of Swachh Bharat and Minimum Government, Maximum Governance. With the campaign progressing steadily, officials remain optimistic about achieving full implementation of the identified targets in the coming weeks.
