Terrorist linked with ISI Arrested in Uttar Pradesh

In a big win for Indian security forces, a terrorist with connections to Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) and Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) was arrested in Uttar Pradesh. The arrest took place on March 6, 2025, during a joint operation by the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) and Punjab Police. The operation followed months of intelligence work, which revealed the suspect was planning terrorist activities that could harm national security.

The man arrested, Lajar Masih, is from Amritsar, Punjab. He had been in contact with Swarn Singh, also known as Jeevan Fauji, who leads BKI’s group in Germany. Masih also had direct links with ISI agents in Pakistan. He had planned to carry out a large attack during the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj but was stopped by increased security at the event.

BKI is a dangerous terror group with a history of attacks in multiple countries. Masih’s arrest is an important step in stopping both BKI and its backers, including the ISI.

During the operation, police found a large amount of weapons and explosives, such as three live hand grenades, two detonators, a foreign-made pistol, and 13 bullets. These materials were meant for future attacks. Investigators are now trying to find out who else was involved in Masih’s plan, which could lead to more arrests.

This arrest reminds us of the ongoing threat from terror groups targeting India. The government continues to work hard to stop such attacks and protect citizens.
