American electric vehicle giant Tesla has once again found itself in trouble. The company has announced a recall of 63,619 units of its popular model, Cybertruck, after discovering that the headlights or parking lights in these vehicles were excessively bright. This issue, Tesla says, could cause glare for oncoming drivers and increase the risk of road accidents.

According to Tesla, the affected Cybertrucks were manufactured between November 2023 and October 2025. The defect was detected during the company’s internal testing process. The automaker stated that the problem is primarily software-related, affecting the brightness configuration of the headlamps.

Tesla assured that owners will not have to bear any additional cost to fix the issue. The company has already released an over-the-air software update, which will automatically adjust the brightness settings remotely meaning owners won’t need to visit service centers.

Tesla further clarified that no accidents, injuries, or fatalities have been reported due to this issue so far. Still, as a safety precaution, the company has decided to conduct a large-scale recall. Experts believe that while this reflects Tesla’s sense of responsibility, frequent recalls could slightly affect the brand’s reputation.

Automobile analysts point out that excessive headlamp brightness is not just a technical glitch but a serious road safety concern. Intense lighting can impair the vision of oncoming drivers, increasing the likelihood of accidents. Hence, industry observers expect stricter quality control and better software testing from Tesla in the future.

The company also mentioned that photometric tests have been carried out to measure and locate the fault, and Tesla plans to further strengthen its monitoring and quality assurance systems to prevent such errors going forward.

Tesla’s swift response through this recall not only addresses a technical issue but also sends a positive message about its commitment to customer safety and reliability.
