Delhi Police has detained three persons, including two doctors from Al Falah University in Haryana, in connection with the ongoing investigation into the alleged terror module linked to the car explosion near the Red Fort.
Officials said on Saturday that the two doctors, identified as Mohammad and Mustakim, were known to Umar Nabi, the driver of the car that exploded close to the monument earlier this week. The detentions were made during coordinated raids carried out on Friday night by the Delhi Police Special Cell and central agencies in Dhauj, Nuh and nearby areas.
Sources stated that a team from the National Investigation Agency assisted the Special Cell during the operation. The officers involved are now questioning the detainees to determine their possible role and whether they were aware of any wider network connected to the blast.
Investigators are examining digital records, communication links and any association the three may have had with Nabi, who has already been placed under scrutiny. Police said the detentions were part of a broader effort to identify all individuals who may have supported or interacted with the driver before the incident.
Authorities are continuing searches in the region as they seek further evidence and assess whether the blast was part of a larger conspiracy. The enquiry remains active with multiple agencies coordinating their efforts.
