Two friends’ basic idea comes into one comprehensive successful online business. Arfa Khan and Jasiya Fayaz, the graduate students of Amar Singh College, turned their passion for fashion into a popular thrift store, Thrift Treasure—a brand promising to deliver stylish and affordable fashion right at the doorstep.
A year back, they were working part-time but were not happy with their incomes. “We thought, why not start something of our own instead of working for someone else?” says Arfa.
Driving to make something worth, the duo pooled their money and launched Thrift Treasure on Instagram. The business boomed. “Our stock would finish within the span of one or two days. The people just loved the idea of getting trendy clothes at affordable prices,” said Arfa. Encouraged by this attraction, they reinvested their earnings to meet demand for even more stock.
The prime aim of the website is to help a busy woman with an easy option for shopping. The clothing is generally sourced from other states in bulk to satisfy quality with reasonable pricing. “You will spend much more if you buy the same items from some other shops,” explained Jasiya.
They never felt, like conventional retail businesses, to open physical stores. “There are so many online orders we take care of everything at home and deliver right into the hands of customers,” said Arfa. This model cuts costs, along with bringing convenience to the customers.
A lot of motivation for their success should be credited to their families. “It was our families’ encouragement that did great justice to give us the confidence to carry on,” said Jasiya.
Their stock sells out, even today, within days of the demand for their collection. “This is the beginning. We have big dreams for Thrift Treasure,” Arfa said.
