A local Indian citizen died after being stabbed to death at Rockland in Canada, says the Indian High Commission in Ottawa on Saturday.
The High Commission said a person has already been arrested and an investigation was ongoing.
"We are extremely saddened by the unfortunate death of an Indian citizen in Rockland, close to Ottawa, as a result of a stabbing. The police have confirmed that a suspect is under arrest. We are cooperating closely with a local community organization to provide support to the bereaved family," the Indian High Commission in Ottawa posted on X.
The accident took place along Lalonde Street around 3 PM Friday (local time), some 40 kilometers east of Ottawa's city center, according to the Ontario Provincial Police to Radio-Canada. But it is uncertain whether that is the same accident noted by the Indian embassy in their X post.
