Donald Trump has claimed that the United States’ military campaign against Iran is performing beyond expectations, rating the war effort “about 15 out of 10” as the conflict continues to intensify.
Speaking during a roundtable with technology executives at the White House, the US president said American forces and their allies were making rapid progress in the ongoing operation. “We’re doing well on the war front, to put it mildly. Somebody asked me, on a scale of 10, how I would rate it. I said about a 15,” Trump said.
Trump asserted that the United States was now in a strong strategic position and claimed that Iran’s military capabilities were being weakened significantly. According to him, Iranian ballistic missiles and launch systems are being “wiped out rapidly” as US operations continue across the region.
The remarks came as the conflict between the US and Iran entered its fifth day, with multiple military operations reported across parts of the Middle East. Reports suggest that American and allied forces have carried out several strikes targeting Iranian military infrastructure, while tensions remain high across the region.
Trump also repeated his long-standing criticism of the 2015 Iran nuclear deal negotiated during the presidency of Barack Obama. He argued that withdrawing from the agreement prevented Tehran from eventually developing nuclear weapons and justified the current military action.
“If crazy people have nuclear weapons, bad things happen,” Trump said, defending the decision to confront Iran militarily and insisting that pre-emptive action was necessary.
During his remarks, the US president claimed that Iran’s leadership structure was being weakened by ongoing operations. He said the United States and its allies would continue their campaign until the threat posed by Tehran’s military capabilities is neutralised.
However, the escalating conflict has sparked concerns globally, with analysts warning that continued strikes and retaliation could further destabilise the Middle East and widen the regional crisis.
Despite those concerns, Trump maintained that the US military campaign is progressing successfully and vowed to continue operations, stating that the United States has “the greatest military in the world.”
As tensions continue to rise, governments across the world are closely monitoring developments, fearing that the conflict could trigger broader geopolitical consequences.
