In a coordinated late-night operation, the Sambhal district administration launched a major crackdown targeting illegal power connections and unauthorized religious structures. The action, led by District Magistrate Rajendra Pensiya and Superintendent of Police Krishna Kumar Bishnoi, aimed to curb electricity theft and reclaim government land.
In the Deepa Sarai area, teams discovered multiple households using electricity illegally. Immersion rods and heaters were seized, and the connections were promptly disconnected under official supervision. The operation unfolded just 200 meters from the residence of Sambhal MP Ziaur Rehman Barq, highlighting the administration’s determination to enforce rules regardless of location. Similar raids last year had exposed illegal power houses operating within mosques and madrasas.
In Salempur Salar village, residents themselves dismantled an unauthorized mosque measuring 439 square meters on Gram Samaj land before the scheduled official demolition. Tehsildar Dhirendra Pratap noted that villagers acted proactively to avoid potential losses from government action.
Meanwhile, in Hajipur village, authorities demolished an illegal madrasa occupying around 4,000 square meters of Gram Panchayat land. Despite repeated notices, the encroachers had failed to remove the structure, leaving demolition as the only option. In Rawa Buzurg village, an illegal mosque built on 552 square meters of government land was also razed, completing a phased demolition that began in October 2025.
Officials emphasized that these moves reflect a sustained effort by the Sambhal administration to tackle illegal encroachments and power theft, ensuring compliance with the law and reclaiming public land. The operations combined strict enforcement with community participation, sending a strong message about the consequences of violating land and electricity regulations.
This intensified drive underscores the district administration’s commitment to upholding law and order while protecting government property.
