Vice-President C. P. Radhakrishnan is set to visit Kurukshetra in Haryana, where he will take part in two major events. His visit includes attending the 20th Convocation of the National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra, as the Chief Guest.
During the programme, graduating students of the institute will receive their degrees in the presence of the Vice-President and other dignitaries. Officials said preparations have been completed for the convocation, which marks two decades of the institute’s annual ceremony.
The Vice-President will also serve as the Chief Guest at the Akhil Bhartiya Devsthanam Sammelan, an event organised alongside the International Gita Mahotsav. The Sammelan brings together representatives and stakeholders from temple trusts and religious bodies across the country. Discussions at the gathering are expected to focus on temple administration, heritage preservation and related cultural initiatives. Both events are being held in Kurukshetra, a significant cultural and historical centre associated with the Mahabharata and the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita. The International Gita Mahotsav, held annually, draws participants and pilgrims from across India and abroad.
Officials said the Vice-President’s engagements reflect the importance of academic excellence and cultural dialogue, with both events drawing large attendance. Security and logistical arrangements in the town have been strengthened ahead of his visit.
