As if looking into a mirror. As if standing face to face with his own childhood. Virat Kohli is set to take the field against New Zealand on Sunday. Preparations are in full swing in Baroda, and amid the intense training, a picture of Kohli has gone viral. Wearing a broad smile, he is seen standing in front of a group of young fans one of whom bears a striking resemblance to Kohli himself, almost like his twin.
The photo capturing the sweet moment between Kohli and the young fan has already gone viral. The Indian team is stepping into a new challenge in the new year. Ahead of the first ODI against the Kiwis, Team India has been training under head coach Gautam Gambhir. During a break in Friday’s practice session, Kohli met the young fans. Many were overjoyed after receiving his autograph on their bats.
Among them, one child caught everyone’s attention. Dressed in an India jersey, the youngster got his small bat signed by Kohli. Many fans began noticing similarities between the child and photos of Kohli from his own childhood. Even Kohli couldn’t stop smiling, as if he had come face to face with his younger self. People started sharing the picture highlighting the resemblance, and even IPL franchise Lucknow Super Giants shared photos of the duo, referencing the iconic Raanjhanaa moment where the hero unexpectedly meets his childhood self.
However, finding a “Kohli lookalike” is nothing new. Over the years, several people resembling Kohli have surfaced, including one fan from Bangladesh who is often called his twin.
Meanwhile, Kohli, along with Yashasvi Jaiswal and others, had already arrived in Baroda earlier. Kohli had a net session the previous day, and by Friday, most of the squad had assembled. Team India practiced at the main stadium from 5 pm. Neither Kohli nor Rohit Sharma spent much time batting during the session.
