Ahead of the first ODI against the Kiwis, Team India has been training under head coach Gautam Gambhir. During a break in Friday’s practice session, Kohli met the young fans. Many were overjoyed after receiving his autograph on their bats.
Among them, one child caught everyone’s attention. Dressed in an India jersey, the youngster got his small bat signed by Kohli. Many fans began noticing similarities between the child and photos of Kohli from his own childhood. Even Kohli couldn’t stop smiling, as if he had come face to face with his younger self. Meanwhile, Kohli, along with Yashasvi Jaiswal and others, had already arrived in Baroda earlier. Kohli had a net session the previous day, and by Friday, most of the squad had assembled. Team India practiced at the main stadium from 5 pm. Neither Kohli nor Rohit Sharma spent much time batting during the session.
