Why Virender Sehwag’s Family Is Drawing So Much Online Attention

Former Indian cricket opener Virender Sehwag and his wife Aarti Ahlawat have become the focus of online discussion amid reports suggesting that the couple may be heading towards separation after over two decades of marriage. The speculation has set social media abuzz, though neither Sehwag nor Ahlawat has made any public statement confirming or denying the reports.

According to several media outlets, the couple, who tied the knot in 2004, are reportedly living separately. A few months ago, Sehwag and Ahlawat unfollowed each other on Instagram, which further fuelled rumours about a possible rift. Reports have suggested that a divorce could be on the horizon, but no official confirmation has been made.

The pair share two sons, Aaryavir and Vedant. Their elder son, Aaryavir, born in 2007, has already started making headlines in domestic cricket. He came close to scoring a triple century while representing Delhi against Meghalaya in the Cooch Behar Trophy in November 2024 - an achievement that drew praise from fans and former players alike.

Observers have pointed out that Sehwag’s last photo with his wife on social media dates back to April 28, 2023. During Diwali 2024, he posted a family photograph featuring only himself, his son, and his mother - with Aarti Ahlawat notably missing from the frame. This absence added to the speculation surrounding their relationship status.

Adding to the chatter, journalist Abhishek Tripathi shared a cryptic post on October 7, 2025, alluding to an old cricket controversy. Although the post was later deleted and contained no direct references, it sparked renewed attention toward Sehwag’s personal life.

Meanwhile, an old 2021 photograph of Aarti Ahlawat with Mithun Manhas, a former domestic cricketer, resurfaced online, intensifying social media discussions. However, there is no verified evidence linking the image to any recent developments, and none of the parties involved have commented publicly.

Manhas, who recently became the first BCCI president from Jammu and Kashmir, has had an illustrious domestic career spanning from 1997 to 2017, with over 9,700 first-class runs. He also represented Delhi Daredevils and Chennai Super Kings in the IPL and later worked as a batting consultant for several franchises.

As of now, all reports remain speculative, with Sehwag, Ahlawat, and Manhas maintaining silence. Until any official confirmation emerges, fans and media are urged to avoid drawing conclusions based on unverified social media claims.
