Mumbai: Workday has reinforced its position in India as a major centre for growth and innovation, announcing new leadership, expansion plans and a strengthened focus on artificial intelligence.
Sunil Jose has assumed charge as President for India, a move the company says highlights its intention to help shape the future of work through AI driven tools and platforms. Workday described India as a core engine for global innovation, noting that the country’s talent pool plays a central role in developing its enterprise solutions for managing people, money and digital agents.
The company confirmed that hiring will continue at pace through FY27, with new office locations planned in Delhi and Bangalore. It also announced that a dedicated India region data centre will be available for provisioning new customers from December 2025, a step aimed at supporting firms seeking localised cloud deployment and improved compliance.
Workday said its continued investment reflects a commitment to advancing technology leadership and driving customer success as organisations worldwide accelerate the use of AI to transform workplace operations. Executives believe the combination of domestic capability building and global product development positions India as one of the company’s most strategic markets.
With demand for AI enabled enterprise tools rising, Workday said it intends to scale its engineering, customer support and product development teams across the country. The company emphasised that India will remain integral to its long term strategy as businesses navigate rapid digital change.
