Amid Target Killings in J&K, Amarnath Yatra, HM Amit Shah calls for high-level meeting on May 17

As the valley is once again countenancing a surge in targeted killings ahead of the pilgrimage of Shri Amarnath Ji beginning June 30, Union Health Minister will hold a high-level review of the security situation of Jammu and Kashmir, in New Delhi on May 17. 



The review meeting will be chaired by Amit Shah at 11 am in North Block. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Chief Secretary Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) RK Goyal, Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh, and Special DG CID Rashmi Ranjan Swain are also expected to attend the meeting.



The Lieutenant Governor has already left for New Delhi from Srinagar for attending a security review meeting.



Union Home Secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla and heads of all Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and Central Intelligence agencies besides other senior officers of the MHA will also mark their presence in the meeting.



Meanwhile, Director General of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Kuldeep Singh reviewed the security arrangements for the Shri Amarnath Ji pilgrimage at Yatri Niwas in the Bhagwati Nagar area with top officials of the paramilitary force accompanying him.
