Indian Army personnel stationed along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Akhnoor sector were seen enjoying the auspicious occasion of Diwali by burning lamps as India prepared to celebrate Diwali. To commemorate the festival of lights, the jawans stationed at the border were also spotted doing Lakshmi puja and setting off firecrackers.

"I want to tell the countrymen not to worry and celebrate the festival with full joy,” a jawan was quoted.

“I want to wish the countrymen a very happy Diwali and assure them that our soldiers are alert and are keeping a vigil on the border,” Col Iqbal Singh said.

On October 18, Congressman Sachin Pilot posted a couple of images to his social media account with the caption,“Today afternoon at the Cantonment with Officers and Jawans - Always a pleasure and an honour. Jai Hind!”
