India is set to see a big change in its tech landscape this year with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative AI (GenAI) at the forefront, a report said on Thursday. Indian organisations are fast adopting AI across automation, cybersecurity, robotics, and supply chain management, said Capgemini Research Institute’s report.
80% of Indian organisations plan to start proof of concepts (PoCs) or fully implement AI agents by 2025.
36% will partially implement AI agents in specific areas.
VCs and executives too are excited about AI. 85% of VCs and 70% of business leaders believe AI agents will be game changers in AI and data by 2025.
Generative AI is also going to make a big impact in cybersecurity. According to the report, 63% of Indian organisations surveyed expect Gen AI to enable faster threat detection.
Retail and telecom sectors are the most optimistic, with 92% and 91% of executives respectively ranking Gen AI among the top three cybersecurity trends for 2025, said the report.
70% of Indian organisations will integrate AI and Gen AI in their cybersecurity strategy this year, said the report.
AI powered robots is another trend highlighted in the report. More than 50% of organisations in India will deploy AI powered robots by 2025, 45% will implement in specific areas of their operations.
Robotic automation will change industries like manufacturing, logistics and healthcare.
India is also moving towards modernising its supply chains with AI driven innovations. 75% of Indian organisations are in PoC stage for next gen supply chains, though many are starting with limited use cases.
Globally, energy and retail sectors are leading the way, 80% and 78% of executives respectively rank new gen supply chains as top tech trend.
