Agriculture decline in Jammu and Kashmir a matter of Concern

Throughout the world Agriculture is highly important sector. It feeds entire humanity through diverse products . In India Agriculture has been the mainstay of Economy. Agriculture and its allied sectors have proven very vital in Jammu and Kashmir too. A large section of population have been dependent on it. 

The recent facts and figures according to economic survey are worrying. 

The declining contribution of agriculture in the economic landscape, with agriculture's contribution to the region's Gross Domestic Product declining significantly over the past decade and a half is a matter of worry for one and all..

According to the Economic Survey 2023-24, the primary sector now accounts for only 20 per cent of Jammu and Kashmir's Gross Value Added, marking a substantial decline from the 28 per cent recorded 15 years ago.

The Need of the hour is to create awareness among masses to stop the mad conversion of agriculture land into jungle of construction. Also the youth should be motivated to take the all important activity of agriculture with full zeal and zest. 

We need to bear in mind that no region or society can move forward without agriculture and as such we need to take this activity very seriously.

It is only through all important agriculture we can ensure food security and make food available to the masses. Without food no region or human can survive.
