Springs are identity of Kashmir. They are integral part of our beauty. Unfortunately the mad urbanization has hit hard our springs, making many of them non existent.

As climate change looms, Kashmir's springs will play a vital role in sustaining life. However, human neglect and greed have taken a toll on these precious water sources. Many springs have been polluted, turning them into cesspools.

Springs are lifelines not just lifeline in Kashmir but for communities worldwide, providing water for drinking, bathing, and agriculture. They're also habitats for unique plant and animal species found nowhere else on Earth. A 2022 study by the University of Kashmir's Department of Environmental Science revealed that 87% of the region's springs have excellent to good water quality, making them suitable for drinking and other domestic uses without treatment.

It's essential to preserve and protect these springs for the future of Kashmir. By doing so, we can ensure the well-being of its people, flora, and fauna. The clock is ticking; let's act now to safeguard these precious resources. With collective efforts, we can revive and conserve Kashmir's springs, securing a brighter future for generations to come.

From North to South Kashmir the call of time is that we take all the required measures to save our remaining springs and not to further damage them. They are needed to us in many ways.

We have seen many cleaning campaigns of spring by general public and organizations which is step in right direction, according to voices of sanity.
