Rabindranath Tagore the  name shines with a glory of its own. This great charioteer of Bengali literature was a man of versatile talent. His poems, songs, stories, novels, and plays all inspire readers even today. However, not only in his literary identity, Rabindranath Tagore has left a unique distinction in his lifestyle, clothing, and even physical appearance and one example of this personality of his was his long, white, neat beard, which made him look even more respected, serious, and noble.

This beard was not just a decoration on his face, but it became an integral part of his identity. But what many do not know is that behind this beard was regular care and a special domestic routine. Rabindranath Tagore did not believe in any luxurious cosmetics. He believed in the elements of nature and his contact with nature was unbroken in his lifestyle. The products he used to care for his beard and hair can be considered one of the ideals of home beauty care today.

First of all, mustard paste can be mentioned. The natural oils and nutrients present in mustard paste make the beard smooth, soft and healthy. Rabindranath Tagore used this mustard paste on his beard regularly.  He also used dalbata to keep not only his beard but also his facial skin healthy and soft. It acted as a natural scrub and removed dead skin cells from his face, restoring its radiance.

He used Reetha to wash his hair and beard. It is a natural cleanser that keeps the hair roots clean and reduces hair fall. He also used Reetha on his beard to keep it clean and vibrant. It's amazing to think that the care routine he followed centuries ago is still scientific and relevant today.

There is a notable incident regarding his beard. A female devotee wrote to him from Mumbai, requesting him to cut off his beard. But Rabindranath did not respond to that request. Because for him, this beard was not just an external adornment, it was a symbol of his identity, an expression of an inner image.

For men today, beards are not just a style statement, but a way to express confidence and personality. But without care, this beard will never attain beauty. In that case, the home and natural methods used by Rabindranath Tagore can become an eternal guideline even today.

What he did without any expensive brands, cosmetics or hair conditioners is an inspiration even in today's modern era. May our self-identity and philosophy of life be as strong and smooth as his beard—this is the lesson from Rabindranath's story of beauty.
