Sanskrit is witnessing a surge in popularity as a spoken language in Uttar Pradesh, with over 1.21 lakh individuals registering to learn the language under the state-run Missed Call Yojana. More than 53,000 participants have received direct training in spoken Sanskrit, as per data shared by the Uttar Pradesh Sanskrit Sansthan.
Sanskrit is also highly valued in Nepal too .
In 2024, President Ramchandra Paudel has said the popularity of Sanskrit language has been increasing throughout the world and not only in Nepal.
Pertinent to mention, the head of State said this while addressing the prize distribution programme the Jayatu Sanskritam, an organisation for the promotion of Sanskrit, organized at Sheetal Niwas, the President House.
It is a proud facet that Sanskrit boasts a vast body of ancient literature, including the Vedas, Upanishads, and the epics like the Ramayana and Mahabharata.
