The Pahalgam tourist massacre that took place on April 22, 2025, has not just shaken the soul of India but entire humanity. The booming tourism sector of Kashmir has taken a huge hit.
Eminent tourism stakeholders of the Kashmir Valley are pained with this painful reality.
Faisal Khankashi, an eminent tourism stakeholder, states, "The Pahalgam Massacre of innocent tourists has been done by enemies of humanity. Those who have committed this massacre are not even human beings, they are worse than beasts. This heinous attack has broken the back of booming Kashmir tourism, and one can't predict when it would be revived."
Earlier , tourism stakeholder have reported massive cancelation post Pahalgam tragedy.
Mohammad Yakub Dunoo, an eminent face of the Houseboat Industry, terms the Pahalgam Massacre as the height of brutality that words will fall short of condemning. "We are in complete mourning due to this grim tragedy and stand with families of the martyred tourists. At this moment, we can't even think of tourism and are in great pain."
He further Said tourists are our heart beat and the Pahalgam attack meant piercing dagger in our chests ,which made all of us sad beyond anything.

Ground reports are state many people connected to the tourism trade are now sitting idle during what is traditionally considered the peak tourist season in Kashmir.
