Elders are precious part of every society. In India we have great traditions that call for tremendous respect for elders. Elders are treasure of wisdom and we can follow their mentorship to grow in life.
But, the elder abuse is a growing concern in entire world . We need to do all in our hands to stop this.
Elders deserve all the respect.
World Elder Abuse Awareness Day is observed annually on June 15th. This day is dedicated to raising awareness about the mistreatment of older adults and promoting the rights of older persons. In 2025, World Elder Abuse Awareness Day will be on tomorrow Sunday, June 15th.
Elder abuse is a problem that exists in both developing and developed countries yet is typically underreported globally. Prevalence rates or estimates exist only in selected developed countries — ranging from 1% to 10%. Although the extent of elder mistreatment is unknown, its social and moral significance is obvious. As such, it demands a global multifaceted response, one which focuses on protecting the rights of older persons.
We need to take all the pledge to respect our elders. We as youth need to remember we are tomorrow's elders. So we need to do everything to end every abuse against elders. Elders are custodians of our great path directions.
