Akshay Kumar's lawyer explains why Paresh Rawal's Hera Pheri 3 withdrawal resulted in losses and warns of legal ramifications.
Akshay Kumar's production house, Cape of Good Films, has sent a legal notice to actor Paresh Rawal after his sudden withdrawal from Hera Pheri 3, citing "severe legal consequences." Pooja Tidke, Joint Managing Partner of Parinam Law Associate, representing Akshay's banner, stated that Rawal's departure has caused significant financial losses, including expenses for cast, crew, logistics, and even the shooting of a trailer.
Tidke explained that Rawal had previously confirmed his involvement in the project through social media and had signed contracts for the trailer shoot, even filming about three-and-a-half minutes of the film. His abrupt decision to no longer be associated with the film has shocked the production team and disappointed fans who have awaited the third installment for nearly two decades.
The lawyer emphasized that breaking a contract carries serious repercussions, including reputational damage to the committed actors and the franchise. She added that substantial money had already been invested, shooting had begun, and schedules are now disrupted, professionally affecting everyone involved. Rawal, who played Baburao Ganpatrao Apte in the first two films, has been given seven days to respond to the legal notice, with the production house optimistic for a resolution despite currently facing legal challenges.
