Security expert Ronit Roy discloses a frightening incident involving Kareena Kapoor during a chaotic hospital discharge scene
The gruesome case of the stabbing attack in January that sent Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan to the hospital continues to get more horrifying as new details have come forth regarding the horrific experience that his wife Kareena Kapoor went through following.
Ronit Roy, actor and security specialist, whose company was called in to manage the protection of Saif, after the incident occurred, revealed shocking information about what had happened as the couple left the hospital. Speaking honestly about her and Kareena Kapoor's stylishness, Roy told Hindi Rush that Kareena too had her big scare, as her car had been overwhelmed by a mammoth crowd that turned violent, giving her the fright of her life.
There was a mammoth crowd, consisting of media and fans, when Saif was on his way out on discharge. It was too much," said Roy, describing the upheavals of the scene outside the hospital. The matter went out of control very soon, as Kareena tried to find her way home on the same night.
They became annoyed, and unfortunately, when Kareena was on her way home, their car was squeezed off by the crowd. Her eyes were wobbling, quoted Roy. The latter made the actress panic, and therefore she tried to make a call for help.
The scary event led the pulse of Roy to instigate an immediate move in the security team. "She called me in a panic and asked me to ensure Saif got home safely. So we moved quickly, Saif was escorted under tight security, and we coordinated with the local police," he detailed.
The security expert emphasised the gravity of the situation, noting that both media personnel and onlookers had pushed too close to the vehicle, causing it to shake. "There were so many media people and even others who had pushed through, and the car was shaking," Roy said, describing the intensity of the crowd's behaviour.
Roy's involvement in the case extended beyond the immediate crisis response. During his security assessment of Saif's Bandra residence, he discovered significant gaps in the property's safety protocols. "There were clear vulnerabilities exits weren't secured properly, and there was minimal perimeter monitoring," he revealed.
The security expert was frank about the shortcomings he observed: "I wouldn't say they were missing, but they weren't being paid attention to. That's because you don't expect something like this to happen. And that's exactly when it happens, when you're not expecting it."
The chain of events began in the early hours of January 16, when an intruder entered Saif's home through his youngest son Jeh's room. The 54-year-old actor was stabbed multiple times while attempting to protect his family from the attacker. Two of the wounds were dangerously close to his spine, requiring doctors to remove a 2.5-inch knife blade from one of the injuries.
Current Status
Following the implementation of Roy's security recommendations and with strong police support, the situation has stabilised. "Thankfully, they both reached home without further incident. Things have stabilised since, but it was a tense moment," Roy confirmed.
The incident has had a lasting impact on the family's approach to privacy and security. Kareena has since requested that paparazzi stop following and photographing their children, Taimur and Jeh, as the family seeks to maintain a sense of normalcy while dealing with the trauma.
The couple is currently vacationing in London with their sons, taking time to recover from the ordeal that shook not just their family but the entire Bollywood community.
