Radio jockey and actress Mahvash has found herself at the centre of social media controversy following her rumoured relationship with Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal. The backlash intensified after Chahal's separation from his ex-wife, choreographer Dhanashree Verma, with online trolls accusing Mahvash of being responsible for the couple's marital breakdown.
In a recent Instagram post that has sparked widespread discussion, Mahvash addressed the concept of cheating in relationships through a detailed video and accompanying note. Her post came as a direct response to mounting criticism from social media users who have been targeting her since she began appearing publicly with Chahal.
"Relationship me rehke ye sb krna cheating. Aise log khud hi apna karma hote hain bro chorh de usko, khud hi depressed marenge aise log," Mahvash wrote in her post, explaining that people who engage in such behaviour become their karma.
The controversy reached a peak when a social media user commented on her post, writing "Kisika pati churana??????? Cheating" (Stealing someone's husband??????? Cheating). Mahvash's response was swift and direct: "Maine churaya nahi islye I wouldn't know but yes kisika pati churana CHEATING" (I haven't stolen anyone, so I wouldn't know, but yes, stealing someone's husband is cheating).
Taking to her Instagram Stories, Mahvash further addressed the accusations, stating, "In logon ne hi to dekha hai mujhe churate? Kuch bhi baatein banate hain log, bas views aane chahiye inke" (These people have seen me stealing? People will say anything just to get views).
The RJ, who made her acting debut in the web series "Pyaar Paisa Profit," has been sharing her personal experiences with relationships and forgiveness. In her post, she revealed details about her past relationship, mentioning that she had forgiven her previous partner three times before learning her lesson.
"Main apni last relationship me 3 bar maaf krke dekh chuki hu. Don't let anyone disrespect you twice. Bohot mil jaenge tumhe unse behtar," she advised her followers, emphasising the importance of self-respect in relationships.
Mahvash and Chahal have been spotted together at various events over the past few months, including a Christmas event in 2024 and the Champions Trophy final in Dubai. Their public appearances have fueled speculation about their relationship status, with some reports suggesting they may be engaged.
The couple's rumoured romance became a talking point when Chahal's teammate Rishabh Pant jokingly mentioned an engagement during a recent interaction, though neither Mahvash nor Chahal have officially confirmed their relationship status.
