Sanjana Bumrah Slams Trolls for Mocking Son Angad

Sanjana Ganesan, sports broadcaster and wife of India pacer Jasprit Bumrah, strongly condemned social media trolls for mocking their one-and-a-half-year-old son, Angad, after his brief appearance during the Mumbai Indians vs Lucknow Super Giants IPL match at Wankhede Stadium. Following Bumrah’s match-winning four-wicket haul, images and videos of Angad in the stands went viral, prompting a wave of insensitive comments and memes about the child’s expressions.

Disturbed by the online reaction, Sanjana took to Instagram to issue a firm statement: “Our son is NOT a topic for your entertainment.

Jasprit and I do everything in our power to keep Angad away from social media because the internet is a despicable, vile place to be and I completely understand the implications of bringing a child to a cricket stadium filled with cameras, but please understand that Angad and I were there to support Jasprit and nothing else.” She criticized people for making assumptions about Angad based on a few seconds of footage and called out those using terms like “trauma” and “depression” in reference to a toddler, labeling such behavior as harmful and inappropriate.

Sanjana urged the public to show more kindness and refrain from turning children into viral content or subjects of judgment. Her message received widespread support from fans and public figures, who echoed her concerns about online toxicity and the need to protect children’s privacy.
