Abdu Rozik, the popular Tajikistani singer and social media influencer who gained fame through his appearance on Bigg Boss 16, was detained by Dubai authorities over the weekend on allegations of theft. However, his management team has moved quickly to clarify the situation, stating he was released after questioning and will proceed with his scheduled commitments in the UAE.

The 21-year-old entertainer was taken into custody around 5 AM on Saturday shortly after arriving at Dubai International Airport from Montenegro. While initial reports suggested he had been arrested, his management company, S-Line Project, issued a statement disputing these claims.

"First of all, he is not arrested, he was only detained by the police. Abdu Rozik gave his explanations and was released. Today he will participate in the award ceremony which will be held in Dubai," the statement read.

The company further emphasized that media reports contained inaccuracies and warned they would take legal action to protect Rozik's reputation. "Information in media is not correct. We will take all legal action to protect Abdu Rozik and his image," they added.

Despite the detention, Rozik's team confirmed he would attend a scheduled award ceremony in Dubai as planned, suggesting the matter was resolved quickly. The specific nature of the theft allegations has not been disclosed by authorities, who have yet to issue an official statement on the incident.

Depicted as having a unique 3-foot height and charisma, Rozik has mounted up a fan base via his music and the use of social media. His songs which are Ohi Dili Zor, Chaki Chaki Boron and Modar have been viewed on online millions of times. His big breakthrough came when he appeared on the hit Indian reality TV program Bigg Boss 16 further boosting his profile in the area.

The performer has a deep tie with the UAE. In 2022, he was a guest performer at the 22 nd IIFA Awards show in Abu Dhabi where he performed the Hindi song Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga, a 1994 film 1942: A Love Story. In April 2024, he also got engaged to a 19-year old UAE resident, but the scheduled July wedding was cancelled.

This incident marks another brush with authorities for Rozik. In 2024, he was questioned by India's Enforcement Directorate in connection with a money laundering investigation involving a hospitality firm, though he was not named as an accused in that case.

A representative from the company managing Rozik told local media that while they could confirm he was detained over theft allegations, they declined to provide additional details about the specific circumstances.

The management team has promised to provide more information to clarify the situation for his Indian fanbase, stating they "have a lot to say regarding this issue" and are committed to correcting any misinformation.

As the dust settles on this weekend's events, Rozik's ability to continue with his Dubai schedule suggests the matter may have been a misunderstanding that was quickly resolved. His team's swift response and legal threats against inaccurate reporting demonstrate their commitment to protecting the young entertainer's growing international career.

The incident serves as a reminder of the scrutiny faced by social media personalities and the importance of accurate reporting in an age of instant news cycles.
