Vaani Kapoor's Graceful Response to War 2 Exclusion Shows True Class

Actress expresses gratitude for original film while wishing sequel team well

Bollywood actress Vaani Kapoor has addressed her absence from the highly anticipated sequel "War 2" with remarkable grace and humour, proving that sometimes the most elegant response is one of genuine goodwill.

While promoting her upcoming Netflix series "Mandala Murders," Kapoor was questioned about not reprising her role in the action franchise that originally starred her alongside Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff. Her response was both refreshing and revealing of her character.

"No regrets whatsoever," Kapoor told podcaster Siddharth Kanan. "I wish them the best. I feel incredibly grateful that I at least got the opportunity to be a part of a film like War, the OG War. It looks beautiful. It is cinematic. It is larger than life. Kudos to the team."

What made Kapoor's response particularly endearing was her playful reference to how both her and Tiger Shroff's characters met their end in the original 2019 film. With a chuckle, she explained, "Me, Sid (director Sidharth Anand), and Tiger are not there in the sequel. Tiger and I both passed away in the War. So I said, if Tiger comes back, I'm coming back too, my friend!"

This lighthearted approach to what could have been an awkward situation demonstrates Kapoor's professionalism and her ability to find humour even when discussing missed opportunities.

The 2019 "War" was indeed a massive success, becoming one of the highest-grossing Bollywood films of that year with worldwide collections exceeding ₹475 crore. Directed by Siddharth Anand and produced by Yash Raj Films, the action thriller was praised for its high-octane sequences, slick visuals, and the dynamic chemistry between its leads.

Kapoor's gratitude for being part of such a successful project speaks volumes about her perspective on career highs and lows. Rather than dwelling on what might have been, she chooses to celebrate what was achieved.

The sequel, now being directed by Ayan Mukerji, brings back Hrithik Roshan as agent Kabir but introduces fresh faces to the franchise. Jr. NTR joins as the new antagonist Agent Vikram, marking his Bollywood debut, while Kiara Advani steps in as the leading lady.

Set to release on August 14, 2025, "War 2" is part of Yash Raj Films' expanding spy universe and promises to deliver the same high-octane action that made the original a blockbuster.

Meanwhile, Kapoor is focused on her upcoming projects, particularly "Mandala Murders," a crime thriller series where she plays an investigative officer. Co-directed by Gopi Puthran of "Mardaani" fame, the series explores ritualistic killings connected to ancient prophecies.

Kapoor's handling of the "War 2" question serves as a masterclass in professional dignity. In an industry where public statements can often be loaded with subtext or barely concealed resentment, her genuine warmth and humour stand out as refreshingly authentic.

Her approach reminds us that sometimes the most powerful response to exclusion is not bitterness, but gratitude for past opportunities and genuine excitement for what lies ahead.
