The Home Minister said it would be unethical to dislodge the government elected by a huge mandate. So, Shah asked the party’s Bengal unit not to get dismayed, but to fight Trinamool Congress on political grounds
Home minister Amit Shah while speaking at a Bengal BJP meeting, ruled out the possibility of President’s Rule in West Bengal.
During a recent meeting with President Ram Nath Kovind, the BJP lawyers’ team alleged the collapse of law and order in West Bengal and hence proposed the president’s rule in the state.
The Home Minister said it would be unethical to dislodge the government elected by a huge mandate. So, Shah asked the party’s Bengal unit not to get dismayed, but to fight Trinamool Congress on political grounds.
Shah also asked the party’s Bengal unit not to rely on the CBI investigation to corner the TMC.
“Nobody from outside will fight on your behalf. You must fight your own battle,” Shah said.
The home minister also boosted the morale of the state unit by saying that in the 2021 assembly polls, the BJP took a giant leap from 3 to 77, and therefore there is no reason to feel disheartened about the saffron party’s future in West Bengal.
