Various administrative and religious authorities in Uttarakhand have said that all preparations for the Chardham Yatra 2025 have already been completed. The doors of Yamunotri and Gangotri will open on April 30, Kedarnath on May 2 and Badrinath on May 4. Every year, lakhs of pilgrims gather to visit these holy four Dhams in the Himalayas, and therefore the administration's preparations for this annual pilgrimage are also extensive.
Speaking to the media on Wednesday, Pandey, a senior official of the Uttarakhand government, said, "All preparations for the Chardham Yatra are complete. We have prayed to Mother Ganga that this yatra will be successful. The safety of the devotees is our top priority." He also said that paramilitary forces and police will be deployed to ensure security along the route.
On the other hand, Uttarakhand Director General of Police Deepak Kumar said on Tuesday that about 6,000 police personnel and 17 PAC companies will be deployed for the yatra. For security and surveillance of the yatra route, more than 200 CCTV cameras have been installed along the entire Chardham route, more than 300 cameras in Haridwar alone. About 90 cameras have also been installed in each Dham area. Not only that, continuous surveillance will also be carried out from above through drones. The administration is also keeping a close watch on social media, the police chief said.
Also, before going to Kedarnath Dham, the Panchamukhi Kedarnath idol was taken out for the yatra from Omkareshwar temple in Ukhimath on Monday after special puja. Regarding the preparations for Kedarnath, Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) media in-charge Dr. Harish Gaur said, "All necessary arrangements for drinking water, electricity and accommodation have been made for the priests and workers."Registration for the Chardham Yatra began on Monday. Separate counters have been set up for the specially abled, senior citizens and foreign visitors. District Tourism Officer Sushil Nautiyal said that a total of 20 free registration counters have been opened.
Finally, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami assured that this year's Yatra will be conducted smoothly. In his words, "All preparations for Chardham Yatra 2025 are complete. Adequate arrangements have been made for the smooth journey and stay of the devotees."
