**Heavy Rain and Strong Winds Hit Delhi, Over 100 Flights Delayed**

*New Delhi, May 2, 2025* — Heavy rain and strong winds caused major problems in Delhi on Thursday, leading to delays of more than 100 flights and affecting daily life across the city.

The sudden weather change brought strong gusts of wind and heavy downpours in the afternoon, making it hard for flights to land or take off at the Indira Gandhi International Airport. Many passengers were left waiting for hours, and several flights were also diverted to other airports.

Airport officials said that safety was the top priority. “Due to bad weather and low visibility, many flights were delayed. We are working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible,” an airport spokesperson said.

The strong winds also caused trees to fall and damaged power lines in some parts of the city. Traffic was slow on major roads as waterlogging and fallen branches blocked the way.

The weather department has warned that more rain and wind may continue over the next day. People are advised to stay indoors and avoid unnecessary travel.

Emergency teams have been sent out to clear roads and help restore normal services.
