UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and global icon Priyanka Chopra Jonas appreciated Prime Minister Narendra Modi for hosting the successful WAVES Summit 2025 launch, hailing it as a "historic step" toward boosting women's voices and innovation at the international level.
Addressing the summit, Chopra thanked the initiative, "For years we've talked about needing inclusion, innovation, and international collaboration. Today we finally have the stage. The WAVES Summit isn't just an event — it's a movement."
WAVES Summit 2025 (Women, Advancement, Vision, Entrepreneurship, Sustainability) featured leaders from around the globe in technology, science, art, and policy to address women empowerment and sustainable development.
The Modi government's initiative of making gender equality and innovation a national priority was lauded by Chopra. "This platform is a demonstration of India's increasing global leadership and determination to co-create a more inclusive future," she said.
The conference is being touted as one of the most ambitious international events of the year, with significant announcements to be made on funding for women-led startups, climate resilience initiatives, and cross-cultural exchange programs.
