Junior Doctor brutally raped by colleague in Gwalior hostel
In yet another shocking incident, a 25-year-old junior doctor was brutally raped by her own colleague in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. The incident occurred on Sunday, January 5, in an abandoned and empty hostel linked to Gajaraja Medical College.
According to reports, the accused, also a 25-year-old junior doctor from the same college, lured the victim to the deserted hostel under false pretenses. Once there, he threatened and assaulted her. The victim, who was staying in the college's girls' hostel while preparing for her upcoming exams, showed immense courage by filing a complaint at Kampu police station.
City Superintendent of Police Ashok Jadon addressed the media, stating, "This is a critical moment for our society, especially following the recent Kolkata rape case. Such incidents are a disgrace to our institutions. We are committed to ensuring the accused receives appropriate punishment."
The accused was promptly arrested and is now facing legal action under relevant laws. Further investigations into the case are underway, police confirmed.
