Modi Slams JMM for Backing Bangladeshi, Rohingya Infiltrators to Secure Votes

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-led coalition in Jharkhand on Sunday, accusing them of encouraging the infiltration of Bangladeshis and Rohingya refugees for political gain. In a fiery speech, Modi alleged that the ruling alliance is using illegal immigration as a tool to secure votes, compromising the security and interests of the state.
Touching on the issue for the first time since his discussions with former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Modi expressed grave concerns about the growing infiltration problem. According to him, the JMM government is turning a blind eye to the illegal entry of foreigners, particularly from Bangladesh and the Rohingya community, to build a reliable vote bank for the upcoming elections.
Modi emphasized that national security and the future of Jharkhand are at risk due to these unchecked infiltrations. He further warned that the state's resources, jobs, and welfare programs are being drained by the influx of illegal immigrants, which, in turn, is causing distress for the local population.
"Jharkhand's government is playing with fire," Modi said. "This isn't about governance—this is a shameless grab for power at the expense of the state’s safety."
With elections approaching, Modi’s statement has sparked a political storm, intensifying the already heated atmosphere in Jharkhand. The JMM-led alliance has yet to officially respond to the Prime Minister’s allegations, but the opposition has quickly backed his claims, further fueling the debate.
