Sunil Yadav: Justice or Retaliation?

The shocking assassination of Indian smuggler Sunil Yadav in the United States, allegedly orchestrated by an aide of the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi, has sent ripples across international and national spheres. Bishnoi’s network, known for its audacious criminal operations, appears to have expanded its influence overseas. The aide’s declaration of avenging a past betrayal raises troubling questions about the growing impunity of organized crime syndicates and the apparent gaps in global security frameworks.

While the claim of revenge might satisfy the Bishnoi gang's pursuit of dominance, it exposes a chilling reality where justice is overshadowed by vendetta. Yadav, despite his criminal record, was entitled to a lawful trial and due process. Instead, his death reflects an alarming trend where individuals with criminal pasts are judged and executed by rival syndicates, bypassing judicial systems entirely.

This incident also underscores the international dimension of India's gang wars. With Yadav's murder taking place on foreign soil, the role of American law enforcement in preventing such incidents and ensuring safety is under scrutiny. Moreover, it raises uncomfortable questions about India's efforts to counter its organized crime nexus, which seems to be thriving even in exile.

Such events are a reminder of the fragility of the rule of law in the face of unchecked crime. While justice must be served, it should be through courts, not guns. A strong global stance is necessary to deter such acts, ensuring that no criminal group, no matter how powerful, can take law into its own hands.
