Kulgam, July 10, 2025: In a significant boost to the public healthcare system, two health facilities from Kulgam district—AAM-SHC Sailkhenjen and AAM-PHC Bugam—have been awarded the National Quality Certification under the National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS).

According to a communiqué from the National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC), both facilities successfully cleared a rigorous external assessment conducted by empanelled experts in April 2025. AAM-SHC Sailkhenjen scored 87.72% after evaluation of 12 service packages, while AAM-PHC Bugam achieved 89.88% across six departments.

The recognition is a reflection of the concerted efforts of the District Health Department and the National Health Mission (NHM) team. Staff credited the achievement to the effective leadership of Chief Medical Officer Kulgam, whose guidance played a vital role in meeting national quality benchmarks.

The certification reinforces the district’s commitment to providing high-quality, safe, and patient-friendly healthcare services to the community.
