Kulgam, July 19: In a remarkable milestone for healthcare in South Kashmir, the Sub District Hospital (SDH) DH Pora successfully conducted its first-ever tendon repair procedure, marking a significant advancement in surgical care for the region.
The procedure was carried out by renowned Orthopedist Dr. Aijaz, with the expert assistance of OT Technician Shahbaz Hamid and support from the hospital's dedicated surgical team. The successful surgery represents a major step forward in the capabilities of the hospital, which has long served a large population in a remote area with limited access to specialized care.
Local residents have hailed the achievement and expressed their deep appreciation for Health Minister Sakeena Itoo and Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kulgam Dr. Shaukat Hussain Parray for their efforts in upgrading and empowering the healthcare infrastructure in the region.
"This is a proud moment for our hospital and our community. We thank the administration and medical team for making such critical services available locally," said one resident.
The successful tendon repair procedure has raised hopes for further development of advanced surgical services at SDH DH Pora, reducing the need for patients to travel long distances for specialized treatments.
