Kulgam, July 15: At least three buildings of a government school were damaged in a devastating fire that broke out during the night in the Brinal area of Devsar in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district, officials said on Tuesday.
According to Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Devsar, Ghulam Nabi Dar, the fire erupted late last night and caused significant damage to two buildings of Government Middle School (GMS) Dangerpora Brinal, as well as an adjoining old structure.
“The school has a total enrollment of around 150 students. We are currently shifting them to the fourth remaining building of the school so that their studies are not affected,” Dar said.
He added that a formal complaint has been lodged with the police and that investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of the blaze.
