*Anantnag Police Seeks Public Assistance in Identifying ATM Fraud Suspect*

Anantnag, 5 May, 2025: 

On 15th April 2025, one person namely Syed Mushtaq Ahmad approached Police Post General Bus Stand Anantnag with a written complaint regarding an incident of ATM fraud.

As per the complainant, he had visited an ATM located opposite Delhi Darbar on KP Road, Anantnag, where he sought assistance from an unknown individual for withdrawing money. The said individual allegedly took advantage of the situation, discreetly exchanged the complainant’s ATM card, and later withdrew an amount of Rs. 40,000 from his account without authorization.

Upon receipt of the complaint, Anantnag Police initiated an investigation into the matter. During the course of investigation, CCTV footage from the ATM site was obtained and reviewed. The footage has revealed the suspect involved in the fraudulent act.

In view of the above, Anantnag Police seeks the cooperation of the general public in identifying the individual seen in the attached photographs. Anyone with information about the identity or whereabouts of the suspect is requested to contact Police Post GBS on following No.s
