ATM guard from Shopian found dead in Aharbal after going missing

A man from Shopian who had gone missing on Monday has been found dead under mysterious circumstances in the Aharbal area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district, officials

Waseem Ahmad Malik, a resident of Alyalpora in Shopian, worked as an ATM guard. According to officials, he had gone missing from Aharbal on Monday.

His body was recovered on Tuesday morning in the same area.

Local authorities and police rushed to the spot after being alerted about the body. “The body has been taken for medico-legal formalities,” an official said, adding that an investigation has been launched to ascertain the cause of death.

The circumstances leading to his disappearance and subsequent death remain unclear.
