Baramulla Police solves theft case in Uri – accused Arrested, Stolen property recovered

April 30 :On 29-04-2025 Police Station Uri received a written complaint from Altaf Ahmad Lone son of Gh Nabi Lone resident of Uri stating therein that during the intervening nights of 28/29 April 2025 some unknown persons had entered his premises and stolen his scooty (registration number JK05N-5492) which was parked on the roadside near his residence during the night.

Accordingly, a case under FIR No 45/2025, under Section 303(2) BNS was registered at Police Station Uri and an investigation was initiated.

During the investigation, CCTV footage from the vicinity of the incident and surrounding areas was collected and thoroughly analyzed. Based on the evidence, the accused was identified as Gulzar Ahmad Parray son of Habibullah Parray resident of Balkote. He was subsequently arrested for the commission of the offence.During de-briefing alleged accused confessed to the theft and led to the place where he had concealed the stolen scooty. This led to the successful recovery of the stolen property.

Further investigation of the the case is going on.
