Kulgam, May 14: MLA Devsar Peerzada Feroz Ahmad Shah has welcomed the recent ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan, describing it as a vital step toward lasting peace and regional stability. Addressing a workers' meeting in Devsar, located in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district, Shah expressed gratitude over the development.

“Alhamdulillah, thanks to Allah, both countries have signed the ceasefire agreement,” Shah stated, adding that the move had likely averted further escalation. He warned that continued hostilities could have resulted in severe consequences. “Thousands of lives would have been lost if the war continued. This ceasefire is a much-needed step toward ensuring the safety of our border population,” he said.

Shah also noted that the party’s senior leadership had already visited the border areas affected by cross-border shelling, offering aid and support to impacted families.

Following the meeting, Shah visited the Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Devsar to inspect ongoing developmental works. He expressed satisfaction over the progress and indicated that the facility is expected to be inaugurated in the coming days.
