Srinagar, July 19: The Counter-Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) unit of Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday launched simultaneous raids at multiple locations across the Valley in connection with an ongoing investigation into a terror recruitment module.
An official said the searches are being carried out at ten locations spread across four districts—Pulwama, Ganderbal, Srinagar, and Budgam. The operation is linked to a terror-crime case involving a sleeper cell allegedly operating under the directions of Jaish-e-Mohammed commander Abdullah Ghazi from across the border.
The official further revealed that the CIK is searching one location in Pulwama, six in Ganderbal, one in Srinagar, and two in Budgam district.
The raids are aimed at uncovering evidence of recruitment and logistic support being provided to terrorist groups operating in the region. Digital devices and documents, if found, will be examined for further leads.
Further details are awaited as the operation is still ongoing.
