CRPF personnel dies by suicide in Anantnag

A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel died by suicide in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Friday morning, officials said.

Officials told that the deceased, identified as Head Constable Rishpal Singh of the 164 Battalion’s ‘C’ Company, allegedly shot himself in the head with his service weapon at Dalwatch village, under the jurisdiction of Dooru Police Station, while on his way to duty.

He died on the spot, officials added.

Police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated further proceedings.
