KULGAM, JUNE 30:The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan (IAS), on Monday conducted a comprehensive inspection of the ongoing work on the NH-444 project in the district, focusing on the crucial Kulgam By-Pass stretch and the under-construction Brazloo Bridge.
The 8-kilometre-long bypass, spanning from Pahloo to Lirow, includes the 378-meter-long Brazloo Bridge, a vital infrastructure component being built at an estimated cost of ₹56 crore.
During the visit, the DDC reviewed the status of the project with engineers from the executing agencies. He instructed them to accelerate the pace of work and ensure timely completion of the NH-444 project. Special emphasis was laid on prioritizing the construction of the Brazloo Bridge due to its strategic importance in improving regional connectivity.
The DDC also directed the concerned Tehsildars to remove remaining structures obstructing the project alignment, particularly those for which compensation has already been disbursed.
Accompanying the DDC during the inspection were Assistant Commissioner Revenue Reyaz Ahmad Shah, Tehsildars Kulgam and Pahloo, Executive Engineer NH-444 Construction Division Srinagar, AEE's, and other officials.
