DC Kulgam Inspects Ongoing Health Infrastructure Projects at District Hospital

KULGAM, May 31: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan (IAS), today conducted a comprehensive visit to District Hospital Kulgam to review the progress of several ongoing health infrastructure projects aimed at enhancing patient care and medical facilities.


During the visit, the DC issued directives to expedite key development works, including the extension of a 50-bedded Emergency Critical Care Unit, construction of an additional block for Maternity and Child Health, renovation and upgradation of the main hospital building, establishment of a new ticketing counter, IHIP lab, DNB hostel, and a dedicated autopsy room.


The DC also took time to interact with patients and attendants, personally enquiring about the medical services being provided at the hospital. He assured that the administration is committed to improving healthcare delivery in the district.


Officials informed the DC that under the District Capex Budget Upgradation Plan 2024, several civil and allied works amounting to ₹261.73 lakh are being carried out at full pace to bridge existing infrastructural gaps.


On the occasion, the Medical Superintendent expressed gratitude to the Deputy Commissioner for his continuous support and recent interventions, which have led to substantial improvements at the hospital. Notable upgrades include the installation of a digital X-ray plant, an advanced anesthesia station, a fully equipped orthopedic surgery theatre, and new machinery for the Dialysis Centre.


The DC was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Viqar Ahmed Giri, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Reyaz Ahmad Shah, the Medical Superintendent of DH Kulgam, members of the DEIC team, Executive Engineer PWD Kulgam, AEE staff, and hospital administrative officials.
